Bright and beautiful looks to beat the winter blahs!

Harsh winter temperatures can leave the skin feeling cracked and dehydrated. If yours is anything like mine, left to its own devices, skin goes into hibernation becoming a dull less vibrant version of itself. But there’s no rule that says you have to fall victim to the times.
Here are several quick tips to help cure dry and irritated skin and give winter blue the boot.
1. Place a humidifier in your bedroom. This will add moisture to the air and help prevent your skin from drying or cracking.
2. Invest in the best moisture based cream or lotion you can afford. Slather on the moisturizer in the morning and night. This will create a protective layer on the skin as you battle the chilly climate.
3. SPF is not only for the summer months. Remember, the sun’s rays are just as strong during the winter as they are in the summer and your skin needs all the protection it can get.
4. Apply a body lotion or cream within in minutes of getting out of the shower or bath to lock in moisture. Try applying sweet almond oil just before you get out of the shower then towel off.
5. Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate. Indulge yourself at least once a week to slough away dry and flaky skin and allow renewed skin the shin through. Whether you prefer a salt or sugar scrub, body brush or loofah pad, the choice is yours – just remember to be gentle.
