Summer Make Up for All Ages: Part 2 - Make Up In Your 30's

Posted 25 July, 2008, at 10:05AM by Shana King

First, remember, beauty is ageless. In your 30s, you really need to re-think your whole beauty regime. 30-something women have very busy lives – from their careers to families, so this is the time to create an all-occasion make-up collection. As your skin is less even in tone and texture than in your 20’s, splurge on quality foundation that enhances what you’ve got, minimizes flaws and offers anti-aging benefits. Go for tinted moisturizers and mineral powders. Find a concealer you love and use it especially to brighten under your eyes or add radiance to your face. For eye shadows, you can still have fun with different colors and shades – just don’t over do it.
At any age, eyebrows are one of the most important features of our face and yet they are often the most neglected. In your 30s, groomed eyebrows instantly frame the face and provide lift to the eye area.

  1. The Evian water tip is great. I spray my face with this and then apply moisturizer during air travel since airplanes have such low air humidity.

  2. Absolutely Agree! I am in my 30s and do have a very busy schedule and almost no time to apply makeup. I find that tinted moisturizers work better for me as my skin is starting to be drier that it used to. In addition the tip about the concealer is also very true as you want a good concealer that does not settle into the fine lines and a good concealer brush also makes a difference. I love Adesign Medium concealer brush!

  3. I just started using aDesign brushes. What a difference it makes in my makeup application! Also, thank you so much for the tips! I will definitally try the evian tip, as I tend to have dry skin year round.

  4. Hi Shana! Here is the post I wrote…shout out to you and your great brushes!
